今作『Introducing Wayne Shorter』は、1962 年にサンフランシスコのジャズ・ワークショップで録音されたもの。ユセフ・ラティーフと実弟であるナット・アダレイの 3 管編成セクステットで、乗りの良いファンキーなハードバップナンバー「Jessica’s Day」や「The Jive Samba」など名曲を多数収録。
